Powerbar
Project Overview
Powerbar is known in the industry as “the original fuel for athletes”. When they came to us they wanted to refresh and energize their brand for distribution in the United States. Our goal was simple. Increase the sales by creating a site that was functional to selling their product and help establish Powerbar as a leader in their industry through the athletes they sponsor and educational content.
The Team
Product Designer | Development Team | Product Manager | Subject Matter Expert
I was the product designer for this project from the discovery to the delivery of the final end product. I worked closely with the entire team throughout the process. From conducting research, developing strategy, and using design thinking to understand our potential users, we set out to build a solution that would be intuitive for our users while best meeting the business goals of the stakeholders involved in the project.
Our Process
01. Research
I began by reaching out to our potential users and gathered research on what their potential pain points were for learning and implementing new technology like Biml into their existing data development workflow.
02. Exploration
Once I had collected that data I developed personas, created information architecture maps, user journeys, and scenarios to inform the initial design of the prototype.
03. Prototype
I started with a low fidelity prototype and worked closely with our development team and project manager to ensure that the solution fit within the requirements for the project. I then iterated on that design until it became a high fidelity prototype.
The Delivery
Once the final prototype was finished I worked closely with the development team, product manager, and subject matter expert to deliver the correct assets and make sure the content that was developed for the courses was input into the system correctly. Although it was a huge undertaking our team developed a great solution that engaged our community and allowed people to take a guided course giving them the ability to learn Biml and implement it into their existing workflow.
